New painting
So I just sketched out a new painting for an upcoming 3 person show this July in FL.. Being of the spanish decent I figured why not incorporate spanish words into my paintings to give them a little more pop! and mind you they are not just random words obviously, the words will pertain to the theme of the painting and/or the show... not sure if this is going to be a permanent thing yet, I still need to paint this to see how its going to look.. I will be posting process shots of this as well.. hope you guys dig! i'm off to strain the wood.

Matthew Ryan Sharp and Project Detonate decided to to exhibit new and existing works in this 2 man show tackling issues of addiction, obsession, robbery, heartache and mischief.
Together producing almost 90 pieces of original art on wood, paper, panels, plaques and found objects with brushes and spray paint being the weapon of choice. Both artist decided to combine quality and quantity while keeping the cost to the Chicago art patron low, due to the current economic status of the world as well as the fast approaching holiday season.

Bedtime Stories • Atlanta show

So Im posting a picture of a new painting i'm doing for the upcoming bedtime story show in Atlanta next month. As you can see I went a different route than doing my usual spray painted backgrounds. One thing I did notice after completing my solo show and seeing all the pieces in one room, was that I needed to focus on the background, take time out to work on the back just as much as I do with my characters, don't get me wrong I'm really satisfied how the pieces for the solo show came out but I think it's time to develop and step up my game a little more. all in all I think it gives it a more "mature" look. I'm having lots of fun working on this piece and i'll make sure to post up the finished pieced. its 12x24 on wood entitled "Sleep now for tomorrow may never come"
