Beer Time Brah!

Frankly I'm over making Beer signs.. Corona, Miller Lite.. ugh.. over it.. I'm stoked that I put so much hard work and energy towards something I don't do, against and rather not even promote.. Ironic, hypocrisy, I hope I get stoned for what I'm doing haha.. I just need to keep my eye on the prize.. I know soon I won't be doing this for long. not being ungrateful at all.. just stating some facts

"At Will"

So today I received a form to sign, and as I was reading it what caught my eye the most was the "at will" section... pretty much you can get terminated with or without notice and with or without a reason(or vice versa, you can do the same to them)..then my sister's words rang loud in my head "Everybody is Expendable" it's so true.. if you think about it, unless you own a business technically there is no such thing as job security.. I have known people who have worked 10-15 years in a company only to loose their jobs at the drop of a dime.. its sad but true... as for me I'm totally working towards living off my art... Piebald sang it best with their song "The Monkey Versus The Robot" yeah we really got lucky, we're nobody's robot, we're nobody's monkey.. I know one day I will be able to sing those words and really mean it.

Resident Evil:Afterlife

Anyone who knows me know I geek out for RE, I have the comic books, books, figures and the video games so when I heard the trailer for the new Resident Evil movie Afterlife was out I was stoked!.. after viewing it not sure how I feel about it really.. hell from the previews I didn't see to much zombie action, which bums me out.. I'm no movie critic so I'm gonna refrain from analyzing the series (movies that is) all in all the first three were entertaining, did they follow the Video Game?..eh not really, but I wouldn't deem them a waste of time..am I going to watch this when it comes out? you bet your biscuits I will

you can view it here, for some reason I tried embedding it and it kept looking cock eyed

Toy Dabbler

Here I am sketching out a few ideas for 3 marshalls I will be working on...I'm not really known as a toy customizer and I gotta say I don't mind that at all... I started of as a painter and I would rather be known as a painter first and foremost...so as I kept doodling out ideas... that's when it hit me, I feel very confined when I do customs and therefore usually not drawn to do them...I love how the finished piece looks, and seeing a 3D object fully customized with the artist's style is awesome! could it be that I'm not that good at sculpting...so if there is a piece I want to add or a piece that is heavily detailed I can't deliver?

One thing I love about painting is leaving room for interpretation..you maybe able to do that with a custom, but for the most part you follow a custom pretty much through, or at least that's how I see it.. when I paint there are so many possibilities that in the end your painting can go either way...with my customs in the past I have started them in one way and at the end it's like huh? this is not what I was aiming for haha and usually not happy with the results, where as my paintings they are usually a lot better then what I was aiming for...or maybe it's just me.. don't get me wrong now, I still like to get my hands on figures and customize them for shows..hell I have three coming up this year already, and all are really solid figures.. so I guess what Im trying to say is.. I'll always be a painter first, as for doing customs toys.. just call me a toy dabbler.... yeah I dabble! thoughts?
